Why a Journey Map?
Wilson disease can affect every aspect of your life and leave you feeling many different emotions. This activity will illustrate the stages of living with Wilson disease and help identify resources that could be useful. This exercise also allows you the opportunity to reflect on your own personal journey and identify how your experience with Wilson disease has changed over time.
Completing Your Journey Map:
1. Start by reviewing the Journey Map template provided here and print some out to use.
2. Choose a few moments in your journey with Wilson disease that had a significant effect on you. We’ve provided a few common milestones if you need a place to start.
3. For each moment, harness your creativity to choose items like stickers, magazine clippings, photos, images or words that represent what you were experiencing or how you felt at that moment in your journey.
4. Draw, write, glue or tape your items and/or stickers to your Journey Map, creating a visual representation of your personal Wilson disease journey.
5. Add any topics not included on the map that were important to your journey. This map should reflect your authentic experience.
